The Good Newsroom, launched in 2022 as a modern alternative to a bi-weekly print publication, has been recognized with top awards from the Associated Church Press. Known for its multichannel publishing and video storytelling, the newsroom features regular videos of Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York. Cardinal Dolan expressed pride in the team's recognition: “You might see my videos on from time to time, but you’ll also see stories about the overall Catholic faith and all the ways it touches our community. I’m proud that team has been recognized by the Associated Church Press for its superb work.”

The newsroom's website, www.theGoodNewsroom.org, received an Award of Excellence in the Overall Excellence/Best in Class “Independent Website” category. The site saw a 48% increase in average monthly visitors year-over-year and serves as a central hub for over 2,000 stories published annually. Spanish-language content is available at BuenasNoticias.org.

Additionally, The Good Newsroom earned an Award of Excellence in Visual Communications for its multimedia project covering the 2024 annual Our Lady of Guadalupe Mass and celebrations. This event is significant within New York's Catholic community and attracted thousands to St. Patrick’s Cathedral. A dedicated landing page was created to host articles and videos in both English and Spanish.

In the Visual Communications category for "Editorial, Documentary-Style, or Educational Feature," newsroom reporters took first through third places with their videos. Fernanda Pierorazio received an Award of Excellence for her Spanish-language video "Traditional Mañanitas," part of the Our Lady of Guadalupe series. Mary Shovlain was awarded an Award of Merit and Honorable Mention for her videos on Cardinal Dolan’s activities at St. Patrick’s Cathedral.

The team also secured two additional Honorable Mentions: Fernanda Pierorazio for "Faith of Artists" in the Video Series category and Patrick Grady for his news story video on Cardinal Dolan's visit to a 9/11 remembrance event.
