Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez | Archdiocese of Philedelphia

Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia, will lead a Mass with the Rite of Ordination to the Priesthood, ordaining five new priests for service in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. The event is scheduled for Saturday, May 17, 2025, at 10:00 a.m. at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul in Philadelphia.

The newly ordained priests are expected to serve as parochial vicars within the Archdiocese. Parochial vicars assist parish pastors with pastoral and administrative responsibilities.

The Catholic Charities Appeal has facilitated live streaming of the Mass on various platforms including Vimeo and Facebook pages associated with Archbishop Pérez and Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary. For any technical issues related to the live stream, Daniel Kearns can be contacted at 215-888-0305.

Saint Charles Borromeo Seminary, established in 1832 and now located in Lower Gwynedd Township since 2024, plays a crucial role in preparing men for priestly service. The seminary currently enrolls 139 seminarians and is one of the largest seminaries nationwide.

The Catholic Charities Appeal remains a significant fundraiser for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, supporting numerous organizations across five key areas: Social Services, Evangelization, Special Education, Mission Parishes, and Retired and Infirm Priests.
