Massimiliano Tomassini, Assistant Vice President of European Programs at St. John’s University in Rome, Italy, has completed his Ph.D. with The School of Education. His dissertation focused on the culturally responsive teaching practices of Italian teachers working with US undergraduate students studying abroad in Rome.

Dr. Tomassini's research was guided by Evan T. Ortlieb, Ph.D., Adjunct Professor, and Michael R. Sampson, Ph.D., Professor, both from the Education Specialties department at The School of Education.

The accomplishment is notable as it marks a unique instance where an administrator from St. John’s University's Rome location has achieved a doctorate through the main campus program.
