Walsh University emerged victorious in the 2025 Mayor’s Cup Challenge, exceeding its fundraising target by collecting $83,500. Initially aiming for $65,000, Walsh surpassed this with $76,000 at the cut-off announcement and eventually reached the final amount. Malone University also contributed significantly to the cause by raising a total of $62,315. Together, both universities amassed over $145,000 to support their athletic programs.
Eric Constant, Vice President for Philanthropy at Walsh University, expressed gratitude: “On behalf of Walsh University, I extend my deepest gratitude to our incredible donors, alumni, parents, students, coaches, faculty, staff, and friends.” He further acknowledged the support from local businesses and partners: “We also want to thank Chick-fil-A restaurants of Dressler Road and Massillon for being game day sponsors for both universities. Finally, a special thank you to Mayor Stephan Wilder, Mayor William Sherer, and our friends at Malone University for hosting this year’s Mayor’s Cup games and for your partnership in the fundraising challenge.”
