Benedictine University awarded an honorary Doctorate of Human Letters to alumnus Peter Foyo during its Commencement Ceremony on May 3, 2025. The event took place at the Rosemont Theater in Rosemont, Illinois. The University's Board of Trustees, faculty, and administration unanimously approved this honor, acknowledging Foyo's career achievements and commitment to service.

Foyo graduated in 1987 with a degree in international business and economics. He has since established a significant career in the global telecommunications industry. His work includes advising international dignitaries, corporate leaders, and policymakers on technology and human development advancements. This expertise has also made him a sought-after speaker at academic institutions.

In addition to his professional success, Foyo has maintained strong ties with Benedictine University. He has been involved with the Goodwin College of Business Advisory Council and advised the Office of the President. His support for the University's mission is evident through his philanthropy and mentorship efforts. Moreover, his dedication extends to St. Procopius Abbey, where he contributes to strengthening the Institution's legacy through his commitment to the Benedictine tradition and Catholic faith.
