Gabe Bermea, an alumnus of Benedictine University with a Doctor of Education degree obtained in 2020, has been appointed as the Associate Vice Provost for Academic Advising & Transitions at Texas State University. In his new position, Dr. Bermea will collaborate with campus teams to enhance advising practices and support both students and advisors during key transitional periods. His role also involves addressing critical student needs.

Dr. Bermea is known for his work as an educator and researcher focusing on student success. He is recognized for his expertise in humanistic advising practices, especially within Minority-Serving Institutions and Hispanic-Serving Institutions. Throughout his career, he has dedicated himself to expanding access and opportunities for underserved student populations.
