Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D. Bishop | Archdiocese of Louisville
Bellarmine University is set to host the first Fourth and Walnut Lecture on March 18. James Finley, a clinical psychologist from California, will deliver a presentation titled “Being a Healing Presence in a Wounded and Traumatized World.”
Finley's background includes time spent as a monk at the Abbey of Gethsemani, where he was under the spiritual guidance of Thomas Merton, an influential monk known for his writings. The event will be held in Frazier Hall at Bellarmine.
This lecture series will be an annual event commemorating Merton’s epiphany that took place in 1958 at the intersection of Fourth and Walnut (now Muhammad Ali) streets in downtown Louisville. This information was announced by Bellarmine University.
