Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre has announced new appointments within the Archdiocese, effective February 1, 2025. Very Rev. T. Michael Tobin will take on the role of administrator pro-tempore for Sts. Simon and Jude Church and Most Blessed Sacrament Church. He will continue his current duties as pastor of St. Rita Church and St. Luke Church, vicar for Hispanic ministry, and dean of Deanery 2.
Father Tobin is originally from Sacramento, California, and was ordained on August 7, 1993. His education includes studies at the University of Louisville, major seminary at the American College Seminary in Louvain, Belgium, and post-graduate work at Catholic University of Louvain. He holds a bachelor's degree in canon law, a master's in religious studies, and a licentiate in sacred theology.
Throughout his ministry in the Archdiocese of Louisville, Father Tobin has served as pastor for several parishes including St. Aloysius in Shepherdsville and Our Lady of Mercy in Hodgenville among others. Additionally, he has been an associate pastor at various churches such as St. Margaret Mary Church.
Rev. William P. Burks Jr., meanwhile, will serve as sacramental moderator for both Sts. Simon and Jude and Most Blessed Sacrament churches.
Rev. Nicholas J. Brown has been granted a one-year leave of absence from active ministry following his resignation as pastor from these same churches.
