The Archdiocese of Philadelphia is organizing a week-long pilgrimage to Italy, in collaboration with Malvern Retreat House and ProRome Tours. The event aims to honor Blessed Carlo Acutis and mark his canonization as a saint during the Jubilee Year 2025 celebrations. Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez will lead the pilgrimage.
Scheduled from April 23 to 29, 2025, in Rome, the pilgrimage offers an optional extension to Assisi from April 29 to May 1, 2025. Participants will stay at the five-star Westin Excelsior in Rome and can enjoy a flexible touring program suitable for all ages. Key events include attending the canonization ceremony of Blessed Carlo Acutis in Saint Peter’s Square, visiting the Papal Basilicas and Holy Doors, exploring the Catacombs, and seeing the Pantheon.

Archbishop Pérez previously expressed his joy following Pope Francis’ announcement about the upcoming canonizations of Blessed Carlo Acutis and Blessed Pier Giorgio Frassati. The canonization of Blessed Carlo Acutis is set for April 27 in Saint Peter’s Square.
