Most Reverend Robert J. Brennan, Bishop of Brooklyn, has announced the passing of Reverend Albert Bellantonio, a retired priest of the Diocese of Brooklyn. Father Bellantonio was born on January 10, 1942, in New York and was ordained to the Priesthood on May 31, 1969. He passed away on Monday, November 25, 2024.

Father Bellantonio served in various roles within the Diocese of Brooklyn. He was Pastor at Our Lady of Solace Parish in Brooklyn and held positions as Administrator at Saint Rita Parish and Parochial Vicar at Most Precious Blood Parish, Saint Bernadette Parish, and Saint Jerome Parish. Additionally, he ministered at Saint Dominic and Our Lady of Guadalupe Parishes while residing at Bishop Mugavero Residence in Douglaston.

The arrangements for his wake are scheduled for Friday, December 6, 2024. It will take place from 9:00 AM to 10:30 AM at the Immaculate Conception Center located at 7200 Douglaston Parkway in Douglaston, New York. The Funeral Mass will follow at the same location beginning at 11:00 AM. Father Bellantonio's burial will be held at Saint Charles Cemetery in Farmingdale, New York.

He was a member of the Priests’ Purgatorial Society. "Please pray for the repose of his soul and for the consolation of his family and friends," reads a statement from Reverend Monsignor Steven J. Aguggia.

Condolences can be sent to his sister Mrs. Mildred Maturando at her residence on Sherboune Road in Valley Stream.
