Eight women to advance in religious life with Sisters of St.Francis

The Sisters of St. Francis of the Martyr St. George will celebrate significant milestones for eight women during a Mass at 10 a.m. on Saturday, Aug. 3, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Alton. Bishop Thomas J. Paprocki will serve as the main celebrant.

Three junior sisters will make their final profession: Sister M. Veritas Wilks, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Mark Wilks of Cobleskill, N.Y.; Sister M. Philomena Cagandahan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Crisostomo Cagandahan of Richmond, Texas; and Sister Mary Joseph Kneemiller, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Kneemiller of St. Charles, Mo.

Two novices will make their first profession: Sister M. Magdalena Robinson, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Nick Robinson of Glen Carbon; and Sister Mary Kolbe McMullin, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Scott McMullin of Brandon, Miss.

Three postulants will receive their habit and veil along with new religious names: Kristen Leaderstorf (Sister Mary Emmanuel), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Marc Leaderstorf of Alden, N.Y.; Taylor Smith (Sister Mary Grace), daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Randy Smith of Newton; and Bridget May (Sister Mary Solanus), daughter of Mr.and Mrs.David Mayof Shawnee,Kansas.
