STEUBENVILLE, OHIO—Franciscan University of Steubenville has announced that former NFL All-Pro and Super Bowl Champ Matt Birk will headline the 55th Annual Baron Club Awards Dinner. The event, scheduled for Thursday, April 25, will also honor outstanding individuals such as Boston College women’s basketball coach Joanna Bernabei-McNamee and community leader Tom Timmons.

Birk, known for his successful 15-year NFL career with the Minnesota Vikings and Baltimore Ravens, will bring his inspirational stories and wisdom to the event. Described as a well-known public speaker, Birk's achievements on and off the field have earned him recognition, including the prestigious Walter Payton Man of the Year Award in 2011.

In addition to Birk, the Baron Club will recognize Joanna Bernabei-McNamee for her contributions to women's basketball at Boston College. Tom Timmons, a prominent figure in the banking sector and community leadership, will also be honored for his impactful work within the Steubenville community.

Moreover, the Kuzma Community Award will be presented to the Carol and Todd Phillipson family in recognition of their efforts to turn a family tragedy into a positive force for the local community. The family's foundation, established in memory of their daughter Cynthia, focuses on providing scholarships to Steubenville schools and supporting initiatives like Mary’s Meals.

The Baron Club Awards Dinner, set to take place at Franciscan University’s Finnegan Fieldhouse, offers attendees the chance to hear from distinguished speakers like Birk, while also providing sponsorship opportunities for those looking to support the event. Dinner reservations and membership options are available for interested individuals.
