Franciscan University of Steubenville President, Father Dave Pivonka, TOR, has released a new book titled "Joyful Sons and Daughters: Embracing the Father’s Love," published by The Word Among Us Press. The publication aims to help readers understand God as a father figure.

Father Pivonka remarked, “More than 150 times in the Bible, Jesus refers to God as Father. Understanding God as our Father is fundamental to our Christian faith, and yet many today struggle to embrace this truth.” He expressed hope that his book would assist people in experiencing healing and recognizing themselves as children of a perfectly loving Father who fulfills their deepest desires.

The book draws from both personal experiences of Father Pivonka and insights from respected Catholics. It examines the role of earthly fathers, spiritual fatherhood among priests, the example set by the Holy Family, and how Jesus Christ reveals God the Father. Each chapter concludes with questions designed to encourage readers to reflect on their own experiences with fatherhood and enhance their relationship with God.

"Joyful Sons and Daughters: Embracing the Father's Love" builds upon "My father's Father," a video series produced by 10th Hour Productions in 2024. In this documentary series, Father Pivonka explored how relationships with earthly fathers influence one's perception of their heavenly Father.
