Christian Brothers University, in collaboration with the Black Student Association, has announced a series of events for Black History Month. The initiative aims to honor the history, culture, and contributions of African Americans through various programs throughout February.
The month-long celebration begins on February 1 with two events at the LLC Lounge: the "Black Brilliance Bash" at 6 pm and the "Black and Bold Bash" from 10 pm to 1 am. The former event will bring students and alumni together in a semi-formal setting to network and celebrate excellence. The latter is an open invitation for all students to enjoy music and dancing.
On February 10, a community service event is scheduled at Binghampton Christian Academy from noon to 1:30 pm. In partnership with the Mu Epsilon Chapter, participants will create Valentine’s Day cards for students.
A hygiene products donation drive will take place on February 11 from 5 pm to 7 pm at St. Joseph 10. Donations are intended for local homeless individuals.
Further community service activities include assembling donation packages on February 12 at Word Church and packaging care items on February 13 at Alfonso Breezeway.
February 14 marks "Black Love Day" from noon to 2 pm at Alfonzo Breezeway, organized by the Black Student Association along with Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., featuring roses and affirmations.
The "Soul Food Soirée," set for February 18 at Montesi starting at 6 pm, promises comfort food alongside inspiring conversations with a guest speaker.
On February 21, "Radiance in Motion," a hair and fashion show celebrating Black excellence, will be held at Spain Auditorium starting at 7 pm.
