Ascension Catholic Church Oak Park, IL recently issued the following announcement.

Donate to our monthly food drive for St. Martin Food Pantry on Saturday and Sunday, July 18 and 19

Thank you to all who dropped off food or made a monetary donation for the St. Martin de Porres Food Pantry in June.  It is super important for the food pantry at St. Martin de Porres that we have another successful food collection.

At Ascension we collect nonperishable food on the third weekend of the month for the Pantry sponsored by the Men's group at our sharing parish, St. Martin de Porres in Chicago. During the covid-19 pandemic, donations are needed more than ever.

Please drop off donations on Saturday, July 18, between 4:30 and 6 pm, or Sunday, July 19, between 7:30 am and 12 noon. When you arrive on Sunday, if you are attending Mass, then bring the bags in with you and place them in the back of the church (southeast corner where confessionals were taken out). If you are not attending Mass and just dropping off, then please hand the bags to a volunteer. Thank you!

Monetary donations are always accepted at any time. You may write a check out to St. Martin de Porres and note food pantry in memo line. Monetary donations can be dropped off during the Food Drive time period or in the mail slot at the parish center. You can also donate online.
