Fifty pro-life students have begun canvassing efforts in Des Moines and Davenport, Iowa, as part of a campaign to support the re-election of Representatives Mariannette Miller-Meeks and Zach Nunn. The initiative is organized by SBA Pro-Life America, which plans to reach 75,000 voters to highlight the pro-life records of the two representatives in the House.

SBA Pro-Life America describes itself as having the largest pro-life voter contact program in the United States. In the previous election cycle, the organization invested $92 million in efforts aimed at defeating Kamala Harris and securing Republican control of both the House and Senate. According to SBA Pro-Life America, its canvassers and partner organizations have already visited 400,000 pro-life and persuadable voters in several states this year, including Georgia, Michigan, North Carolina, Virginia, Wisconsin, and South Carolina.

The group notes that four Planned Parenthood locations in Iowa have closed following the passage of a bill that removed funding from abortion providers. Only two Planned Parenthood clinics remain in the state—one in Des Moines and another in Iowa City. The Charlotte Lozier Institute has analyzed the situation and found that, prior to these closures, community health centers serving Medicaid patients outnumbered Planned Parenthood clinics by a ratio of 28 to one.
