Henry Stuhr, a senior at Bishop Neumann High School in Wahoo, delivered the final talk of the academic year for the Adoration Club at St. Wenceslaus Elementary. Speaking to students from kindergarten through sixth grade, Stuhr shared his personal journey of faith.
Reflecting on his own experiences as a young student, Stuhr recalled sitting in the same pews and questioning how to form a friendship with Jesus, someone he couldn't see. He credited attending Masses during grade school as pivotal moments that helped him develop this relationship. "Serving at Mass as a young student" was particularly influential for him in understanding who Jesus is.
Stuhr's time at Bishop Neumann High School has further deepened his faith. He encouraged the elementary students to nurture their connection with Jesus over the summer by wearing symbols of faith such as a cross or scapular or by visiting church more frequently.
He shared a personal note about writing "Meet me where I am, Lord!" on his track spikes, emphasizing to the students that God "wants to be where we are." Concluding his talk, he posed an introspective question: “Will you carry the Lord with you?”
Looking ahead, Stuhr plans to continue his spiritual journey by entering St. Gregory the Great Seminary in Seward this fall.
