Bishop James Conley and the Catholic Lawyers Guild of Lincoln are organizing the annual "Red Mass" on Monday, March 24, at 7 a.m. The event will take place at St. Mary Church in downtown Lincoln.
The Red Mass will be led by Bishop Conley, with Father James Morin delivering the sermon. Father Morin has recently completed a doctorate in canon law.
Following the Mass, attendees are invited to a complimentary breakfast and presentation by Nikolas Nikas. Nikas is the co-founder, president, and general counsel of the Bioethics Defense Fund. His talk titled “What Cicero, Aquinas and Nuremberg Trials can teach about Law and Morality” will explore the role of law in American life and its moral implications.
The Catholic Lawyers Guild of Lincoln is an association recognized by the Diocese of Lincoln. It aims to integrate Catholic faith into legal practice while promoting ethical standards and community service.
The public is encouraged to attend the Red Mass to join in prayer for those in the legal profession including judges, legislators, attorneys, government officials, and law students.

Additionally, Nikas will speak on end-of-life issues as part of a pro-life speaker series at St. Patrick Parish in Lincoln on Sunday, March 23, at 7 p.m.
