Rev. James D. Conley, D.D., S.T.L. | Diocese of Lincoln website
Souls of the Christian Apostolate (SOCA) is organizing a free online conference from December 27 to 29, aiming to merge mental health and mental prayer. Bishop James Conley of the Catholic Diocese of Lincoln will be among the speakers at this event.
The conference seeks to guide participants from feelings of emptiness to divine fulfillment by bringing together experts in psychology and spiritual theology. This approach addresses both mental and spiritual well-being, exploring how they intersect.
Bishop Conley's pastoral letter on mental health, "A Future With Hope," will also be featured during the event. The conference includes Catholic bishops and licensed mental health professionals who will discuss psychological and spiritual challenges such as anxiety, depression, isolation, and lack of purpose. Participants can expect inspiration along with practical faith-based tools for enhancing their mental well-being and strengthening their connection to God.
“Our event is not only about inspiring change but providing attendees with actionable steps to overcome their unique mental and spiritual struggles,” said Daniel Coleman, spokesperson for the Divine Fulfillment Conference. “At a time when so many feel isolated or overwhelmed, this conference shows that true peace and purpose are attainable.”
For those interested in further personalized guidance, SOCA offers one-on-one discipleship sessions after the event to help integrate Christian meditative practices into daily life.
Other notable speakers include Archbishop Alexander Sample of Portland, Oregon; Archbishop Nelson Pérez of Philadelphia; Archbishop Joseph Naumann of Kansas City, Kansas; writers Bob Schuchts and Neal Lozano; as well as various mental health professionals.
