Reverend Larry Silva, Bishop | Diocese of Honolulu

At the age of 75, a bishop is required to submit to the Pope his letter of resignation from the office he holds. Bishop Silva will turn 75 on August 6, 2024, and his letter will be mailed on that day. However, the Pope has requested that Bishop Silva read and sign his letter publicly before it is sent. He will do so immediately after he celebrates the 12:00 noon Mass on Tuesday, July 9, 2024, at the Cathedral Basilica of Our Lady of Peace (the feast day of Our Lady of Peace). All are invited to witness this historic event.
