Christian Brother Kenneth Chapman, CFC, a former longtime Iona University professor and artist in residence, has been selected to showcase his artwork at the National Eucharistic Congress in Indianapolis. The event is expected to attract tens of thousands of visitors from July 17-21, 2024.
Br. Chapman's paintings were chosen from 650 entries and offer reflections on spirituality and cosmic dimensions. The exhibition, titled “In Memory of Me,” will feature several of his pieces, including “Your Heavenly Word Came Down” and “Last Supper,” among others from sacred artists across the nation.
As a former artist in residence at Iona University, many of Br. Chapman's works are displayed throughout the New Rochelle campus and are occasionally featured in exhibits at the Br. Kenneth Chapman Gallery of the JoAnn Mazzella Murphy '98H Arts Center on North Avenue.
Inspired by Pope Francis’s recent writings and insights from Jesuit paleontologist and mystic Teilhard De Chardin, S.J., Br. Chapman's artwork reflects a lifetime of contemplative thought and artistic expression.
