The SBA Pro-Life America Candidate Fund has announced its endorsement of Mary Elizabeth Coleman for Missouri Secretary of State. Coleman has represented the 22nd District in the state Senate since 2023, where she sponsored legislation to prevent Medicaid funds from being allocated to abortion services. Prior to her tenure in the Senate, she served in the Missouri House of Representatives and chaired the Children and Families Committee.
Coleman introduced several pieces of legislation aimed at restricting abortion practices, including the Empower Women, Promote Life Act, which seeks to ban abortions on fetuses with detectable heartbeats. She also sponsored measures to protect infants who survive abortions and extend child support benefits to unborn children. Additionally, Coleman co-sponsored the Protect Children First joint resolution, a proposed constitutional amendment clarifying that there is no constitutional right to an abortion in Missouri.
Coleman holds a BSBA in management from Saint Louis University and a Juris Doctor degree from St. Mary’s University School of Law. From 2013-2015, she served on the Arnold City Council. Currently, she practices law at Thomas More Society, a national non-profit law firm focused on life, family, and religious liberty issues. Coleman and her husband Christopher have six children, two of whom are adopted.
The Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America Candidate Fund is part of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, a federal political action committee with over one million members dedicated to ending abortion through legislative advocacy and supporting pro-life women leaders.
