The U.S. Supreme Court has concluded the challenge to the FDA's policy permitting mail-order abortion drugs, allowing the Biden administration's regulations to remain in place. This decision comes despite lower courts indicating that the government likely violated laws when it relaxed critical safety standards. The case will now return to district court, where Idaho, Kansas, and Missouri aim to challenge based on reported harms suffered by women in their states.
Katie Daniel, State Policy Director of SBA Pro-Life America, commented on the ruling: "At least three states – Texas, Florida and Massachusetts – have seen cases of third parties attempting to poison women with abortion drugs."
Ingrid Skop, M.D., FACOG, a board-certified OB-GYN and vice president at Charlotte Lozier Institute, expressed her concerns about the implications for women's health.
Marjorie Dannenfelser, President of SBA Pro-Life America, criticized Democrats for promoting mail-order abortion drugs: "63% of Americans, including 42% of Democrats, oppose allowing abortion drugs to be sent through the mail without an in-person doctor visit," she said, citing a Marist/Knights of Columbus poll.
SBA Pro-Life America is a network dedicated to ending abortion by electing national leaders and advocating for pro-life laws. The Charlotte Lozier Institute serves as its education and research arm since its launch in 2011.
