Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady University (FranU) announced today that its President and CEO, Dr. Tina S. Holland, is set to retire. After 11 years of service, Dr. Holland will depart from FranU in the summer of 2025. The University's Board of Trustees will soon commence a national search for her successor.
Todd Schexnayder, Chair of FranU's Board of Trustees, praised Dr. Holland's leadership during her tenure. "From the moment she arrived on campus, Dr. Holland has led FranU with energy, passion, vision and integrity," he said. "She will leave a legacy of growth, academic success, and community engagement centered around a deep commitment to our mission. Her retirement is well-earned and while we will miss her, we are excited to build on the momentum she has created."
Under Dr. Holland’s stewardship, FranU made significant strides in various areas including mission integration with internal and community partners; development of effective enrollment management strategies; continued community engagement; program expansion in response to community needs with record high academic outcomes; and enhancement of fundraising capabilities.
Dr. Holland holds positions on several education and service organization boards at local, state and national levels. She serves as a trustee for the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges and works as a regional accreditation consultant evaluator specializing in organizational mission and governance.
In addition to these roles, Dr. Holland has served on the board of the National Association of Catholic Colleges and Universities, chaired the Governance Committee of the Cristo Rey National Network, held positions on the Executive Board of the Association of Franciscan Colleges and Universities as well as boards for Louisiana Association of Independent Colleges and Universities, University of Holy Cross in New Orleans, St Joseph’s Academy among others.
"Under Dr. Holland's leadership," Schexnayder added, "we strengthened our mission-identity, added several new graduate programs, built our first signature building, raised more philanthropic gifts than ever before, and improved our operations across campus. The university has a great future, and we look forward to finding a new president who can continue our positive direction from the foundation that Dr. Holland has established."
