The Diocese of Baton Rouge, under the leadership of Bishop Michael Duca, has announced several clergy and pastoral assignments effective 01 July 2024.
In a statement released on Tuesday, 30 April 2024, the Diocese expressed gratitude towards retiring pastors, including Father Randy Cuevas of St. Aloysius and Father Michael Moroney of St. Alphonsus Liguori. The Diocese also acknowledged the dedicated service of Father Miles Walsh at St. Helena in Amite.
Father Edward J. Chiffriller, SSJ, currently of St. Francis Xavier, will be assuming an assignment in another diocese, while several pastors have been appointed to new roles within the Diocese. Father Michael Alello, Father Reuben Dykes, Father Ugochukwu Henry Ihuoma, Father Edwin Martin, Father Jason Palermo, Father Taylor Sanford, and Father Amalraj Savarimuthu are among those who will be taking on new responsibilities.
Additionally, the Order of Preachers (Dominicans) stationed at Holy Ghost in Hammond will now oversee sacramental responsibilities and pastoral care at St. Albert the Great Student Center in Hammond.
Furthermore, several diaconate appointments were also announced, with Deacon Randall Clement, Deacon Ronald LeGrange, and Deacon Randall Waguespack taking on new roles within the Diocese. The Diocese also recognized upcoming ordinations in May, appointing Deacon Mark Cloutier, Deacon Jeremy Doucet, and Deacon Frank Titus to new positions with specific ministries.
Congratulations were extended to all the clergy members on their new appointments, as the Diocese of Baton Rouge continues to evolve and serve its community.
