The Lincoln Diocesan Council of Catholic Women (LDCCW) is inviting all women to attend their annual Winter Symposium on February 16 and 17 at Our Lady of Good Counsel Retreat House in Waverly. The theme for this year's symposium is "Magnify Our Lord... With Beauty and Truth."

The symposium will kick off with registration on Friday at 6:30 p.m. This will be followed by a time of prayer, adoration, and worship before the Holy Eucharist, led by Sister Amy Marie of the Marian Sisters of the Diocese of Lincoln. The evening will conclude with a gathering for friendship and refreshments.

Trudy Burenheide, the current president of the LDCCW, expressed her excitement for the upcoming symposium and the opportunities it will provide for spiritual growth. She said, "I hope you are as excited as I am to unfold all that our guests have to share with us and discover where the Holy Spirit will lead us as sisters in Christ."

On Saturday, the retreat will continue with devotions and speakers. Among the speakers will be Charlie Williams, assistant director of the Women's Care Center Foundation, and Paul Yates, executive director of I've Got A Name. The LDCCW has chosen to support these organizations as part of their work of service to the community. Members are encouraged to bring new and like-new books and clothing for infants through toddlers to donate to the Women's Care Center. The proceeds from gift baskets at the symposium and a raffle at the LDCCW convention in April will go towards supporting I've Got A Name's mission to fight human trafficking.

Bishop James Conley will celebrate Mass for the participants on Saturday before lunchtime. The afternoon speakers, Emily Martinez from Restoration Psychotherapy and Sarina Stokes from the retreat house, will focus on the beauty of Christ.
