A large crowd gathered at St. John Vianney Parish in Orlando on November 22, 2025, to witness the installation of Father Francisco Ojeda as the new pastor. The announcement was made by Bishop John Noonan during the feast of Christ the King, drawing cheers from a congregation that filled the church.
The event was attended by several priests, including Father Carlos Cabán, who previously served as parochial administrator of the parish, and former pastor Father Miguel González. Family members of Father Ojeda were present along with staff from JMJ Pregnancy Center, representatives from the Knights of Columbus, and students from Cristo Rey Orlando High School.
Father Ojeda will also serve as shepherd for St. John Vianney Catholic School and Cristo Rey Orlando High School.
During his remarks at the altar, Father Ojeda stated: “Two profound moments meet here at this altar, the kingship of Christ and the mission of a pastor in his Church. Both remind us of one truth, Christ alone is king. Not us, not the world, not the divisions of the world, not our fears or limitations, only Christ,” he said. “Our King reigns from the cross. (His life) is poured out completely.”
The Diocese of Orlando was established in 1968 and oversees 79 parishes, 11 missions, two basilicas, and 43 Catholic schools across nine counties in Central Florida.
