Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez | Archdiocese of Philedelphia

Most Reverend Nelson J. Pérez, Archbishop of Philadelphia, is scheduled to visit the Community Center at Visitation (CCV), part of Catholic Charities of Philadelphia, for a Christmas concert on December 6, 2025. The event will take place at 2:00 p.m. at the center’s location on Kensington Avenue in Philadelphia.

Archbishop Pérez will be accompanied by Most Reverend John J. McIntyre and Most Reverend Christopher R. Cooke, who serve as Auxiliary Bishops for the Archdiocese of Philadelphia. Mrs. Heather Huot, Secretary and Executive Vice President of Catholic Charities of Philadelphia, will also attend.

The symphonic group “Gaudemas” will perform a selection of sacred, classical, and traditional Christmas music during the concert. Organizers say the event is dedicated to residents of Kensington and supporters of CCV.

According to background information provided by Catholic Charities of Philadelphia, the community center was established in 2003 as the Cardinal Bevilacqua Community Center to support children, youth, and families in Kensington. It was renamed the Community Center at Visitation in 2010 after becoming a separate nonprofit organization. Currently, it operates under Catholic Charities’ Youth Services Division.

The mission of CCV is to provide a safe environment for young people in Kensington while helping them build connections and access resources aimed at improving neighborhood quality of life. The center offers services including healthy food access, tutoring programs, professional development training, and recreational activities.
