Local couples celebrate milestone wedding anniversaries with parish gatherings

Tom and Colette Hughes Dumstorf, members of the Church of the Holy Spirit, will mark their 70th wedding anniversary on November 24. The couple have six children and nine grandchildren. They plan to celebrate with a Mass at their parish.

Steve and his wife, members of St. James Church in Elizabethtown, Kentucky, will observe their 55th wedding anniversary on November 27. Steve Wheeler is retired after serving 24 years in the military and working for 22 years at Metalsa. The couple have two children and one grandchild.

Jerry and Helen Prather, who are part of St. Martha Church, will reach their 60th wedding anniversary on November 25. Helen Prather worked as a psychiatric registered nurse for 33 years before retiring. Jerry Prather is a retired mechanical engineer, U.S. Army veteran, and owner of ARCO Engineering, Inc. They have four children, nine grandchildren, and three great-grandchildren.

James and Mary Medley Goatley from St. Rose Church in Springfield, Kentucky celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary on November 19. James Goatley is retired from the U.S. Postal Service while Mary Goatley retired from Ferrellgas. Their family includes three children, seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
