Walsh University President Tim Collins has been formally invested as a Knight of Magisterial Grace in the Order of Malta, one of the oldest Roman Catholic religious orders. The ceremony took place at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City and was presided over by Timothy Cardinal Dolan.

The investiture occurred during the Order of Malta's annual Investiture Weekend, which brought together members from across the United States for prayer, formation, and fellowship. The weekend concluded with a Mass where new members, including President Collins, made vows to uphold and witness to the Catholic faith and serve those in need.

Founded in 1113, the Order of Malta operates globally in more than 130 countries. It focuses on supporting the sick and poor through medical, social, and humanitarian efforts. Membership is by invitation only; candidates undergo a yearlong formation process that includes retreats, service projects, and spiritual reflection before approval by leaders in Rome.

President Collins joined other new Ohio members who were admitted earlier this year before participating in the public investiture. Today, the Order counts around 13,000 members worldwide along with tens of thousands of medical professionals and volunteers who assist its missions.

Collins described his investiture as an extension of his commitment to integrating faith with professional service at Walsh University. “Jesus Christ invites all of us to a radical conversion of heart. Through the Order, I am responding to His asking to have an even greater part of my heart—deepening my service to others and re-centering my focus on Him,” said President Collins. “I thank the Lord for this gift and the opportunity to unite my personal and professional life more fully in His service.”
