Walsh University has introduced the WU Promise Grant, a new financial aid initiative aimed at providing tuition-free education for eligible students from Ohio. The program is intended to help high-achieving students with significant financial need attend Walsh University without having to pay tuition.

“We believe that a student’s potential—not their financial circumstances—should define their future,” said Rebecca Coneglio, Vice President for Enrollment Management. “The WU Promise Grant reflects our commitment to expanding access and opportunity, helping students who have worked hard and achieved academic success pursue their college dreams and reach their goals.”

To be eligible for the WU Promise Grant, applicants must file the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) by the priority deadline and qualify for a need-based Federal Pell Grant. Additional requirements include being an Ohio resident, having a high school GPA of 3.75 or higher, enrolling as a traditional full-time first-year student pursuing their first bachelor’s degree, and demonstrating financial need consistent with Pell Grant eligibility. This typically means a household income of $65,000 or less, though actual eligibility may depend on household size and other factors.

The grant is renewable for up to eight semesters as long as recipients maintain full-time enrollment, stay in good academic standing, and continue making progress toward their degree.

More details about the WU Promise Grant are available at walsh.edu/admissions/wupromise or through the university's Office of Admissions.
