President Donald Trump has called for unified federal regulations on artificial intelligence (AI) development. In response, Terry Schilling, president of the American Principles Project (APP), released a statement supporting the idea of a nationwide standard.

Schilling stated: "President Trump’s call for one big, beautiful federal standard is a smart approach as Washington reckons with the proliferation of AI technology. We should all want AI innovation to be guided by common sense and the common good, not by Communist China or, perhaps worse, Gavin Newsom’s California. We know President Trump can be trusted to put families first by protecting children from adult content online through age verification and upholding parental rights in the virtual world. APP stands ready to assist policymakers in the White House and Congress to ensure America’s next tech revolution is both pro-growth and pro-family."

The debate over AI regulation has increased as new technologies continue to emerge. The American Principles Project emphasizes that future rules should include protections for children online and support for parental rights.
