A Missouri man has been sentenced to 15 and a half years in federal prison after pleading guilty to kidnapping his pregnant girlfriend at gunpoint. The incident occurred in December 2022, when the man forced his girlfriend from her workplace and drove her to the Planned Parenthood facility in Fairview Heights, Illinois, threatening her life if she did not undergo an abortion. The woman was able to alert police, and both she and her child survived. According to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of Illinois, the defendant has continued to issue threats from jail. His defense team plans to appeal the sentence.
U.S. Attorney Steven D. Weinhoeft issued a statement regarding the case.
Marjorie Dannenfelser, president of Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, criticized Democrats and organizations that support abortion access, saying:
A recent investigation by The New York Times reported that Planned Parenthood facilities across the country have shown repeated problems with care quality and sanitation standards as the organization’s abortion rates, taxpayer funding, and political spending have reached record highs. In July, President Trump signed legislation called the One Big Beautiful Bill Act, which removed federal funding from large abortion providers for one year.
Missouri voters will consider a pro-life ballot measure in 2026 that would replace Amendment 3—an amendment that currently allows late-term abortions under state law.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America describes itself as a network of over one million Americans who advocate for anti-abortion policies through legislative action and by supporting pro-life candidates, with an emphasis on promoting women leaders within their movement.
