Catholic parishes across central Kentucky announce events for community engagement

A number of Catholic community events are scheduled across central Kentucky in November.

St. James Church in Elizabethtown will mark its 175th anniversary on November 22 with a Mass at 5 p.m., led by Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre and other clergy, followed by dinner.

A Special Disciples of Jesus Mass for special needs families will be held at St. Margaret Mary Church on November 16 at 3 p.m., with a reception afterward. For more information, Tara Mattingly can be contacted.

The Archdiocese of Louisville Catholic Charismatic Renewal is organizing a healing Mass on November 19 at Holy Family Church, beginning with praise music at 6:30 p.m. The Mass will be presided over by Father Terry Bradshaw, assisted by Deacon Tom Roth. Jessica Webster is the contact for details.

Healthcare professionals and their families are invited to the annual Healthcare Professionals Mass at the Cathedral of the Assumption on November 15 at 5:30 p.m., with a spiritual retreat offered earlier that day at 2 p.m. Registration is not required; Dr. Eliot Bassett can provide more information.

On November 15, St. Albert the Great Church will host the annual Gold Mass for scientists and those interested in science at 10 a.m., followed by a reception and presentation.

A Mass of Remembrance for families who have lost a child is planned for November 15 at St. Louis Bertrand Church, sponsored by Red Bird Ministries Grief Group and the archdiocese’s Office of Family and Life Ministries.

The Ursuline Sisters of Louisville will hold Taizé prayer on November 10 in their Motherhouse Chapel.

The St. Serra Club of Louisville’s next luncheon meeting is set for November 17, featuring Terry Lesch as speaker. The event promotes religious vocations.

Young Catholic Professionals Louisville Chapter will host an executive speaker series on November 18 with Bill Zoeller as guest speaker.

Flaget Alumni Association’s charity dinner takes place on November 12, open to all community members.

Benedictine Oblates, Louisville Chapter, meet on November 16 for a Thanksgiving potluck attended by Benedictine Father Joseph Cox.

Support groups and workshops addressing grief, addiction recovery, caregiving, and mental health continue to meet regularly at various parishes including St. Albert the Great Church, Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Holy Trinity Church, and St. John Paul II Church.

Epiphany Church hosts its second annual Artist Showcase from November 14-15, displaying works from local artists in several mediums.

The Cathedral of the Assumption will feature “Voces Novae” in concert on November 23; tickets are available online.

St. Louis Bertrand’s Knights of Columbus Council welcomes Robert Rogers to share his story on overcoming loss during an event open to the public on November 16.

St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Church holds an indoor yard sale on November 22 with concessions available for purchase during the event hours.
