Christian Brothers University (CBU) has been included in The Princeton Review's list of the 2026 Best Colleges in the South. The recognition highlights CBU’s academic programs, supportive environment, and its focus on student achievement.
The university attributes this honor to its mix of challenging academics, individualized attention for students, and an education grounded in the Lasallian tradition. CBU offers programs in engineering, business, education, and other fields that are designed to prepare students for roles both locally and beyond Memphis.
“CBU offers competitive programs that align with Memphis’ fastest-growing industries,” a statement from the university said. It also noted CBU’s commitment to making higher education accessible and affordable through scholarships and financial aid opportunities such as the Day Foundation La Salle Scholars Program.
The university emphasizes service as a core value. “Rooted in the Lasallian tradition, CBU cultivates a culture of service, leadership, and justice that extends beyond the classroom,” according to its statement.
CBU reports that 98% of its graduates are either employed or pursuing further studies within six to twelve months after graduation—a rate significantly above the national average of 65%. This outcome is supported by internship opportunities, partnerships with local employers, and an alumni network where most graduates remain in Memphis.
Campus life at CBU includes student organizations and events like BucMania and September of Service that aim to foster community engagement among students.
