The United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB) will hold its 2025 Fall Plenary Assembly from November 10 to 13 in Washington. The assembly will include public sessions on November 11 and 12, which will be available via livestream. The event is set to provide opportunities for the bishops to engage in prayer and fraternal dialogue.
Archbishop Timothy P. Broglio, president of the USCCB and leader of the Archdiocese for the Military Services, USA, will open the plenary with his final address as conference president. He is concluding a three-year term in this role at the end of the assembly. Following his remarks, Cardinal Christophe Pierre, papal nuncio to the United States, will address the bishops.
A key agenda item is the election of a new USCCB president and vice president. Their terms will begin at the close of this year’s plenary on November 13. Additionally, bishops will elect chairmen for six USCCB committees; those elected typically serve one year as chairman-elect before starting a three-year term after next year’s fall assembly.
The agenda remains subject to change as it is not yet finalized. Executive sessions during the meeting will not be livestreamed but are expected to cover various topics through private discussions and informational briefings. Topics include ongoing work related to synod implementation, best practices regarding instruction from Laudato si’, and initiatives involving lay members of the Church.
Public session schedules have been announced for November 11 and 12.
