Reverend Joseph E. Kurtz, D.D. Bishop | Archdiocese of Louisville
The Archdiocese of Louisville has scheduled a daylong event focused on parish catechetical ministry for September 20. The gathering, titled “Catechetical Encuentro — Communion and Mission,” will take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. at St. John Paul II Church, located at 3539 Goldsmith Lane.
Organizers state that the event “aims to enhance understanding and dedication to catechesis in parish communities.” Attendance is encouraged for catechetical leaders, catechists, high school juniors and seniors, as well as those involved in marriage, family life, and youth ministry.
Archbishop Shelton J. Fabre will open the event with a Mass. Following the liturgy, there will be presentations available in both Spanish and English covering various topics related to catechesis.
Registration costs $25 per person and includes lunch. Participants can register through their parish either as a group or individually by contacting Eva Gonzalez, director of Hispanic Ministry, at egonzalez@archlou.org or by visiting www.archlou.org/hispanic-ministry-english/.
