Reverend Earl F. Simone | CT
Reverend Earl Francis Simone died on August 4, 2025, in Beavercreek, Ohio. He was born on November 2, 1940, in Kansas City, Missouri. He was baptized at Mary, Help of Christians Church in Fairborn.
Simone earned a Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from St. Gregory Seminary in Cincinnati and a Master of Arts in Theology from Mount St. Mary’s Seminary of the West in Norwood, Ohio. He was ordained as a priest on June 11, 1977, at St. Peter in Chains Cathedral in Cincinnati by Archbishop Joseph L. Bernardin.
His first assignment began on July 1, 1977, as associate at St. Teresa, Little Flower of the Infant Jesus Parish in Springfield. On August 5 that year he became Spiritual Director for the Springfield Council of St. Vincent de Paul.
On July 1, 1980, Simone left to serve as chaplain with the United States Navy.
He was appointed pastor of St. Peter Parish in Huber Heights on August 11, 1992, for six years and re-appointed for another term starting August 11, 1998.
Simone also served as parochial administrator for Our Lady of the Rosary Parish, St. Stephen Parish, Holy Cross Parish and St. Adalbert Parish in Dayton from July 1, 2014 through June 30, 2015 while continuing his role at St. Peter Parish.
He remained pastor and parochial administrator until retiring on April 7, 2015.
Reception of the Body will be held Friday, August 22 at Emmanuel Church at 11:00 a.m., followed by visitation until Mass begins at the same location at 1:00 p.m., celebrated by Reverend John D. MacQuarrie who will also deliver the homily.
Committal is scheduled for Monday, August 25 at Evergreen Cemetery in Streetsboro.
