Virginia Governor Glenn Youngkin has ordered the Virginia State Police to investigate allegations that a social worker and principal at Centreville High School in Fairfax County arranged abortions for two students without parental involvement. According to independent journalist Walter Curt, school staff allegedly used school funds for these procedures. Fairfax County Public Schools officials stated they became aware of the accusations last week, but whistleblower audio from a teacher suggests there may have been an extended effort by FCPS officials to conceal the incidents.
Caitlin Connors, Political Affairs Director at Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, addressed recent political activity related to abortion laws in Virginia. "This summer, Women Speak Out Virginia – 2025, a partner of SBA Pro-Life America, deployed 100 field team workers to visit the homes of 150,000 voters in Richmond and Virginia Beach to support Republicans in securing a majority in the House of Delegates to stop a potential all-trimester abortion ballot measure."
Earlier this year, Democrats in the General Assembly passed a resolution seeking to amend the state constitution. The proposed amendment would permit abortion throughout all trimesters, remove parental consent requirements, end certain health protections for women and girls, and require taxpayer funding for abortion services. For the amendment to appear on the ballot, it must be approved again by lawmakers after November’s election.
Women Speak Out Virginia has previously participated in state elections, including efforts during 2021 when Republicans gained control of the House of Delegates and won statewide offices.
Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America is described as a network with over one million members nationwide focused on electing pro-life leaders and advocating for legislation aimed at ending abortion.
