Walsh University has been recognized as one of the top colleges in Northeast Ohio for return on investment, according to 2025 rankings from Georgetown University’s Center on Education and the Workforce (CEW). The rankings are based on recent U.S. Department of Education College Scorecard data and assess more than 4,600 institutions nationwide by measuring out-of-pocket costs and graduates’ earnings over time.
For students who earn a bachelor’s degree at Walsh, the 10-year return on investment (ROI)—defined as cumulative earnings minus net education costs—amounts to $178,000. This figure places Walsh third in Northeast Ohio, following Case Western Reserve University and Ursuline College, and ahead of Mount Union, Malone, Kent State, and the University of Akron. Across Ohio, Walsh is ranked 14th among 69 institutions and stands at 477th nationally out of 1,682 schools for this metric.
Long-term financial outcomes were also measured. Walsh’s 40-year ROI for bachelor’s degrees reaches $1.93 million. This result puts Walsh fourth in Northeast Ohio, twentieth statewide, and ranks it at number 563 across the country. Institutions that focus on STEM fields or offer law and medical programs tend to have higher lifetime ROIs; however, Walsh continues to outperform other local colleges in both short- and long-term measures.
The university attributes its strong performance to its leading programs in nursing, business, education, and sciences—fields that are known nationally for higher earning potential after graduation. "Walsh ranks among the best in Ohio for programs like Accounting and Finance, and its flexible online degrees, such as the MBA in Healthcare Management, are consistently recognized for quality, convenience, and career impact," said a university spokesperson. "In addition, Walsh’s College of Health Sciences and DeVille School of Business offer hands-on learning environments valued by employers and graduates alike."
Students considering enrollment are encouraged to explore these majors with high potential for professional success. The Office of Admissions is available for further information about these programs.
