Stephanie Fox, appointed interim chair for undergraduate nursing | Walsh University
Stephanie Fox has been named Interim Chair of Undergraduate Nursing at Walsh University's College of Health Sciences, Gary and Linda Byers School of Nursing. Fox joined the university in 2021 as a Clinical Assistant Professor and has contributed to the nursing program through teaching, curriculum development, and student mentorship.
Fox initially taught the Nursing with Families I course and has since expanded her teaching to include classes for students from sophomore to senior years. She advises honors nursing students, is an active member of Sigma Theta Tau International Honor Society of Nursing, serves on the board of the Phi Eta Chapter at Walsh University, and is a member of the Association of Women’s Health, Obstetric and Neonatal Nurses (AWHONN). Her responsibilities have included work on curriculum evaluation and simulation initiatives.
In her new role, Fox will oversee both the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) Pre-Licensure program and the Fast Track BSN accelerated online program for adults. She reports directly to Dr. Kim Cleveland, Dean of College of Health Sciences, collaborating with faculty and staff to maintain academic standards and support student achievement.
Fox brings over 15 years of clinical experience in medical-surgical nursing, surgical intensive care nursing, and obstetric nursing. Before moving into academia, she was a maternity educator at Cleveland Clinic Mercy Hospital. She continues to practice as a labor and delivery nurse.
Her educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from the University of Toledo as well as both BSN and MSN degrees from Kent State University. Fox will continue teaching in obstetric nursing while serving in her administrative position.
“For me, the most meaningful part of being a nursing educator is watching that moment when a student truly understands and begins to grow in confidence,” said Fox. “We need nurses who are not only knowledgeable, but also caring and dedicated—and I have no doubt that our Walsh University graduates will make a real difference.”
