Saint Edmond’s Home for Children, a facility operated by Catholic Charities of Philadelphia’s Developmental Programs Division, will host a lemonade stand on August 8, 2025. The event aims to raise $500 for pediatric cancer research, with all proceeds benefiting the Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

The lemonade stand will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Saint Edmond’s Home for Children, located at 320 South Roberts Road in Rosemont, Pennsylvania. Over 40 residents of the home are expected to participate throughout the day.

Last year, the ministry raised $300 for the foundation through this initiative.

Saint Edmond’s Home for Children was established in 1916 by Archbishop Edmond Prendergast to serve children affected by polio. Originally located in Philadelphia and administered by the Sisters of Bon Secours, it was recognized as the first Catholic home of its kind in America. Today, it serves as a residential facility for children and young adults with severe intellectual and physical disabilities, providing care and services for medically fragile individuals up to age 21.
