Bishop A. Elias Zaidan, chairman of the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops’ Committee on International Justice and Peace, has called for renewed diplomatic efforts to achieve lasting peace between Israel and Iran. In a statement, he emphasized the need for international cooperation in this endeavor.
"We urge the United States and the broader international community to exert every effort to renew a multilateral diplomatic engagement for the attainment of a durable peace between Israel and Iran," said Bishop Zaidan.
With rising tensions and hostilities between the two nations, Bishop Zaidan also encouraged the U.S. government to continue its influence in promoting restraint and dialogue.
