Parishes within the Archdiocese of Louisville have consistently supported this initiative. This year, these parishes collectively contributed $213,689. During the telethon event, officials from the archdiocese disclosed the leading parish donations.
In Jefferson County, St. Martha Church was noted as a top contributor with $15,282. Following were St. Michael Church with $12,789 and St. Albert the Great Church with $11,824.
Outside of Jefferson County, notable contributions came from St. James Church in Elizabethtown, Ky., which donated $7,572; St. Augustine Church in Lebanon, Ky., contributing $3,288; and St. Francis Xavier Church in Mount Washington, Ky., providing $2,542.
The reported totals are anticipated to change as additional donations continue to arrive post-telethon. Since its start in 1954, this fundraising effort has amassed and distributed over $222 million according to whascrusade.org. In 2024 alone, beneficiaries included schools within the Archdiocese of Louisville and other Catholic organizations.
