On May 2, 2025, the Archdiocese of Philadelphia announced the rebranding of its Secretariat for Catholic Human Services to Catholic Charities of Philadelphia (CC Philadelphia). This rebranding brings together three main agencies: Catholic Social Services, Catholic Housing and Community Services, and Nutritional Development Services, all integral to the mission of the Archdiocese to serve those in need.

Mrs. Heather Huot, Secretary for CC Philadelphia, stated, "For more than 225 years, Catholic Human Services and its predecessor organizations have answered Christ’s call to serve our neighbors in need. It is time for an important evolution, one that will strengthen our ability to grow in service to all those in need throughout the Philadelphia region. We are aligning our many works of mercy and charity under one name and returning to our roots as Catholic Charities of Philadelphia."

Catholic Human Services has a history dating back to 1797, originating as a response by the Catholic Church in Philadelphia to the Yellow Fever epidemic. In 1912, the Catholic Charities Office was formally established and later evolved into Catholic Charities of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia from 1955 to 1964.

The decision to rebrand was reached after prayer, consideration, and market research. This change aims to clarify organizational identity and boost public awareness and engagement.

CC Philadelphia operates under the guidance of Catholic faith, providing essential services such as feeding the hungry, sheltering the homeless, and supporting at-risk populations, including children, families, senior citizens, and individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
