Senate Democrats have blocked the Protection of Women and Girls in Sports Act, proposed by Senator Tuberville, from being brought to a vote on the Senate Floor. This legislative move follows the passage of similar legislation in the House of Representatives, which received support from only two Democrat members. President Trump had previously signed an Executive Order aimed at protecting women’s sports, with this bill intended to solidify that policy into law.

Recent polls indicate that nearly 80% of American voters are in favor of protecting women's sports. Additionally, almost 70% of Democrat voters reportedly oppose transgender-identifying athletes competing in women’s sports.

Terry Schilling, President of American Principles Project, expressed his dissatisfaction with the Senate's decision: “It is disappointing to watch Democrats deny biological reality and ignore the will of the American people just to appease their out-of-touch, radical base,” he said. Schilling emphasized that “Women and girls deserve to feel safe in bathrooms, locker rooms, and on the field.” He urged Democrats to heed public opinion: “Democrats need to get their heads out of the sand and listen to the American people who clearly want women’s sports to be protected.”
