Joseph J. Foy, Ph.D. President | Benedictine University
Benedictine University is set to honor individuals who exemplify Radical Hospitality, a practice of welcoming all guests and creating an inclusive environment. The university invites nominations for community members who display exceptional service and foster collaboration, maintain positivity in stressful situations, exhibit cultural awareness, and promote a joyful campus environment.
The initiative seeks to recognize faculty, staff, or students who transform the lives of those they serve through their dedication to hospitality. Nominations can be submitted at any time, with recognition occurring monthly.
"Display exceptional service to students, parents, alumni, or guests to create positive experiences," the university notes as one of the criteria for nomination. Additionally, nominees should "advance the work of their team and foster collaboration that enables an environment of hospitality to thrive."
The program also highlights the importance of maintaining a positive atmosphere even during tense situations and handling complaints effectively. Nominees are expected to "exhibit culturally aware and inclusive practices in a manner that helps everyone feel seen."
Marco Masini, Jonathan Henderson, Debbie Kane, Marc Davidson, and Sebastian Obacz are some of the names associated with this initiative.
