Revered Carl A. Kemme, D.D. Bishop | Diocese of Witchita

The superintendent of the Catholic Diocese has extended an invitation to both parents and teachers to consider Catholic education. The diocese operates 34 parish schools across its region, and they are reaching out to active Catholic families whose children currently attend public schools or are homeschooled.

"We want all active Catholic families to know how much we would love to welcome them to our Catholic schools," the superintendent stated. Parents interested in exploring this option are encouraged to contact their local parish school principal or reach out directly to the diocesan office at 316-269-3950 for assistance.

The superintendent emphasized the role of faith in Catholic education, stating, "Our teachers spend countless hours helping children develop a true love for Jesus Christ." She also highlighted that there is no tuition for active parish families due to a commitment to stewardship.

Regarding teacher qualifications, it was confirmed that "our teachers follow all licensure requirements within the state of Kansas, similar to a public school." The diocese's schools reportedly outperform public schools in every grade level and subject matter on the Kansas Assessment Test.

The second invitation is directed at licensed teachers not currently working in Catholic schools. The diocese is seeking educators who wish to join their team of 751 educators. Assistant Superintendent Kristin Schmitz can be contacted at 316-269-3950 or via email for those interested in teaching opportunities.

Teachers joining the diocese can expect "a great environment whereby your faith will grow every day," along with supportive colleagues and parents. Although salaries vary by parish, a comprehensive benefits package is offered.
