Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez | Archdiocese of Philedelphia

Archbishop Nelson J. Pérez of Philadelphia and His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk, head of the Ukrainian Catholic Church, are set to lead a prayer service at the Cathedral Basilica of Saints Peter and Paul on February 16. The event will focus on hope, perseverance, peace, and justice in Ukraine.

The service coincides with the third anniversary of Ukraine's invasion and is part of a spiritual renewal program by the Ukrainian Catholic Archeparchy of Philadelphia. This program runs from February 15-16.

His Beatitude Sviatoslav Shevchuk's visit to the United States aims to support Ukrainian Catholics affected by the war that began on February 24, 2022. He also intends to advocate for peace and justice in Ukraine during his pastoral mission.

On the same day as the prayer service, His Beatitude will preside over a Divine Liturgy at 11 a.m. in the Byzantine Rite at the Ukrainian Catholic Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception in Philadelphia.

Cardinal Timothy Dolan from New York is expected to attend this significant event.
