Memphis-area education expo connects aspiring educators with regional schools

Christian Brothers University, in collaboration with Rhodes College, Southwest Tennessee Community College, The University of Memphis, LeMoyne-Owen College, and Memphis Teacher Residency, is organizing the Memphis-Area Education Expo. This event is designed to facilitate connections between aspiring educators and hiring schools and educational organizations in the region.

The expo is scheduled for Wednesday, February 12, from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m., at Crosstown Concourse, Suite 366. It aims to link students and alumni from local colleges with schools looking for qualified educators. With more than 30 employers expected to attend, the event will provide opportunities for networking, career exploration, and job placement. It is open to all students and alumni of the partnering institutions interested in teaching or education-related careers.

“We’re thrilled to collaborate with local colleges and schools to create opportunities for students to pursue meaningful careers in education,” stated Amy Ware, Assistant Vice President of External Relations and Career Services at Christian Brothers University. “This event reflects our commitment to supporting Memphis schools by connecting them with passionate future educators.”

Among the participating schools and organizations are Arkansas Teacher Corps, Arlington Community Schools, Aurora Collegiate Academy, Brinkley Heights Urban Academy, Capstone Education Group, Clarksville-Montgomery County School System, Collierville Schools, Compass Community Schools, DeSoto County Schools, Fayette County Schools, Freedom Preparatory Academy Charter Schools, Germantown Municipal School District, Gestalt Community Schools, Iota Community Schools, Jackson Madison County School System, KIPP Memphis Public Schools.

Also included are Lakeland School System; Lindenwood Christian Church; Memphis Business Academy Charter School Network; Memphis Delta Preparatory Charter School; Memphis Jewish Community Center – Early Childhood Center; Memphis School of Excellence; Memphis-Shelby County Schools; Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools; Network of International Christian Schools; Teach For America; Teach 901/Choose 901; The Soulsville Charter School; West Memphis School District; Youth Villages.
